A combination of gentle slow water flow, temperature, and alkalinity are used to accelerate the breakdown of organic materials. Water cremation uses a solution of 95% water and 5% alkali. It is eco-friendly, has no direct emissions of harmful greenhouse gases, and there is no burning of fossil fuels. The sterile water is returned to the earth providing nourishment. The remains are lighter in color, have the consistency resembling a bag of flour and the cremains are placed in a bamboo cylinder urn.
